Mental health challenges are painful to live with, and difficult to talk about publicly because our culture leans toward rewarding wellness. So many people suffer silently – shameful of their affliction, afraid it will never end, and grieving the time lost.
And in the meantime, our relationships, work, and esteem take such a hit that even the possibility of inching towards recovery feels about as likely as winning the lottery.
My own experiences with both depression and anxiety, as well as my professional life as a therapist, are woven into Thriving Bravely because I want you to know you are heard and understood – and far from alone. My openness about my own vulnerabilities is driven by my refusal to feel shame about them, and to encourage you to give that same gift to yourself.
What we do offer are realistic, authentic, actionable, and honest approaches to living with depression and anxiety, so that you feel less derailed when either happens, and more capable of weathering those storms. And a renewed sense of possibility and peace in your life?
Yes, that too can happen.
